While not an entirely new model – the production version was introduced at the Geneva International Motor Show in 2005 – the stunningly beautiful V8 Vantage debuts on Canadian shores at the Toronto event, and is expected in showrooms by the end of the year. This model stems from a concept car first shown at the 2003 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Build in Gaydon, Warwickshire, England, the V8 Vantage features a long hood, two-seater cabin, minimal front and rear overhang, and hatchback rear styling that allows for considerably more luggage space than is normally expected in a sports car. It is the second Aston Martin model to use the company's "VH" (Vertical Horizontal) architecture, and uses lightweight aluminum, with its frame bonded with aerospace adhesives and self-piercing rivets.

The unique architecture provides an excellent backbone, while the use of sophisticated materials such as lightweight alloys, magnesium and advanced composites for the body further contributes to the car's low weight, class-leading rigidity and a near-perfect 49:51 weight distribution. Power is from a 4.3-litre, low-emissions, all-aluminum V8, equipped with a dry-sump lubrication system and providing 380 hp and 302 lb-ft of torque. The engine, built in the company's new engine production facility in Cologne, Germany, is unique to Aston Martin. Initial models will be offered with a six-speed manual, with other transmission options to be announced at a later date.
