Detroit, Michigan - Honda revealed an Accord Coupe Concept car that "reveals a totally new look for the next-generation Accord." The Accord Coupe Concept features a long hood, deeply sculpted lower body and fastback roofline. Its performance oriented styling is further emphasized by a six-sided grille, projector headlamps that recess deep into the front fenders, and quad exhaust outlets integrated into the rear diffuser.

"The Accord Coupe Concept highlights the new styling direction for the next-generation Accord," said Jim Miller, executive vice president of Honda Canada Inc. "The all-new Honda Accord is designed to set new benchmarks for safety, efficiency, performance, refinement and style in its segment."

The next generation production Accord will feature a more powerful and lower-emissions V6 engine with improved fuel efficiency because of the addition of Honda's Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) technology that can deactivate three of the engine's six cylinders during cruising and deceleration.

As part of Honda's "Safety for Everyone" initiative, all next-generation Accord models will include the company's Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) Body Structure that incorporates a front-end frame structure that helps absorb and disperse crash energy over a large area in a frontal impact. ACE also makes the vehicle more crash compatible in frontal impacts with vehicles of differing ride heights. The current generations of the Honda Odyssey (2005), Civic (2006) and CR-V (2007) all feature the ACE Body Structure. The Honda Accord, currently in its seventh generation in 30 years, remains Honda's best-selling vehicle worldwide.
