Montreal, Quebec - Jeep has unveiled the 2007 Jeep Patriot at the Montreal Auto Show, a compact SUV that the company says is a new entry-level price point for the Jeep brand and the only 4x4 SUV offered in Canada with a base MSRP under $20,000. The Patriot will start at $16,995 in two-wheel drive and $18,995 in 4x4 configuration.

The Patriot combines the flexibility of an SUV with the performance, handling, fuel economy and price of a compact car. Standard features include side curtain airbags, electronic stability program, advanced ABS, brake assist, and electronic roll mitigation. The model will also be available with the Trail Rated Freedom Drive II Off-Road Package, with a low-range mode that generates a 19:1 crawl ratio, brake traction control, 19-inch (482.6 mm) water-fording capability and hill descent control. The Patriot will arrive in showrooms starting in mid-February.
