New York, New York - Ford has unveiled the all-new Flex crossover at the New York Auto Show. The 2009 Flex will go in sale in the summer of 2008 and be built at Ford's facility in Oakville, Ontario.

The new vehicle is the production version of the Ford Fairlane concept vehicle that debuted at the 2005 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The Flex will use Ford's 3.5-litre V6, with an expected output of more than 260 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque, mated to a six-speed transmission with available intelligent all-wheel drive.

Standard or available features will include a class-exclusive refrigerated second-row centre console, capless fuel system, Multi-Panel Vista Roof, voice recognition, a 23,000-song personal jukebox, Ford Sync hands-free in-car communications, programmable ambient lighting, three-row Safety Canopy side air curtain, Advance Trac with roll stability control, and rear backup camera.
