2009 Subaru Forester
Cherry Hill, New Jersey - Subaru of America has announced it will debut the all-new, third-generation 2009 Forester at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The new model has a bolder, more SUV-like design and makes a major leap in safety technology, comfort, refinement and driving dynamics.
The 2009 Forester has a longer wheelbase and double-wishbone rear suspension; the all-new platform improves crashworthiness, provides crisper handling and a quieter ride, and increases interior space and cargo room.
All 2009 Forester models will feature standard side-curtain airbags with rollover sensor, and for the first time, Vehicle Dynamics Control stability and traction control system is standard on all models. Models with manual transmissions also feature Incline Start Assist, which prevents the vehicle from rolling backwards when being driven away from a stop on an incline. The naturally aspirated and turbocharged 2.5-litre boxer engines are revised to provide better low- and mid-range torque.
Also for the first time, the 2009 Forester will offer a navigation system, as well as advanced audio system upgrade options.
