BMW's first "Sports Activity Coupe"

Montreal, Quebec - A completely new model, the BMW X6 is described by the company as the "world's first Sports Activity Coupe"; it offers the styling of a large BMW coupe with the sportiness and dynamics of a BMW X model.

The X6 comes standard with a new generation of BMW's intelligent xDrive all-wheel drive technology, featuring Dynamic Performance Control. The all-wheel system uses a series of sensors to anticipate torque requirements and seamlessly direct power to the appropriate wheel.

The X6 will be available as the xDrive 35i, with 3.0-litre straight-six engine with twin turbocharging and direct injection, producing 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque; and as the xDrive 50i, with newly-developed 5.0-litre V8 engine producing 400 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. Both models will be available in Canada in the second quarter of 2008.
