Bark Buckle UP and Volvo promote pet safety

New York, New York - California-based pet safety program Bark Buckle UP has teamed up with Volvo at the New York Auto Show to hand out more than US$20,000 in pet safety and travel products at the automaker's booth. The products will include pet safety systems, pet car seats, pet travel products, and certificates to Le Pet Spa in New York.

The Bark Buckle UP Safety Awards, Pet Safety and Travel Giveaway will begin on March 21, the show's opening day, from the Volvo Booth. The mission of Bark Buckle UP is to save pets' lives by promoting responsible pet travel safety.

"The most critical component for responsible travel with a pet is to properly secure your pet," said co-founder Christina Selter. "In an accident, an unbuckled pet can become a projectile, risking serious injury to your pet, the driver, passengers, and to emergency crews. Thousands of pets die each year in traffic accidents because they were not restrained; just like 'Click it or Ticket', safety belts save lives."
