Audi is unveiling the TTS Coupe, the new flagship of the TT sportscar range, ten years after the introduction of the first TT Coupe. The new model is scheduled to go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2008.
The TTS uses a 2.0-litre TFSI high-performance engine that produces 272 horsepower and makes its peak 258 lb-ft of torque available consistently between 2,500 and 5,000 rpm. This gives the TTS an acceleration of zero to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, but with a six-speed manual transmission, the engine returns an average fuel economy of just 8.0 L/100 km.
The TTS will also be available with an optional S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission, which shifts so quickly that acceleration times are cut by a further two-tenths of a second. Power is transferred to the road on all models by standard Quattro permanent all-wheel drive.
Other features on the TTS include high-performance brakes, 18-inch aluminum wheels, bi-Xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights, and leather and Alcantara seats.
