Detroit auto show:
Ferrari shows 550 Barchetta Pininfarina convertible and 360 Spyder

Ferrari took the wraps off two new convertibles: the 2001 360 Spyder, and the 2002 550 Barchetta Pininfarina convertible - the latter is named after Ferrari's first production car, the 156 Barchetta. Only 448 Barchetta convertibles will be produced and most of them are already sold.

Both vehicles had already been shown at auto shows in Europe: the 360 Spyder in Geneva in March, and the 550 Barchetta in Paris in September. Both vehicles are based on current two-door coupe models, the mid-engined 360 coupe and the front-engined 550 Maranello.
