Toronto, Ontario - Sporting black body accents and special ground effects and manoeuvring on European-tuned suspension with 16-inch six-spoke machined aluminum wheels, the 2001 Ford Focus Street Edition will arrive at Ford showrooms across Canada this Spring.

On the outside, the Focus Street Edition features black front chin, rocker panels, bodyside mouldings and lower fascia, along with fog lights and a rear spoiler on both sedan and wagon models. The new model will be offered in three colours: Infra-Red and - for the first time on sedan and wagon - Fun in the Sun Yellow and Malibu Blue.

The Street Edition uses the same springs, dampers and anti-roll bars found in the European Focus, delivering driving enthusiasts enhanced agility, stability and precision handling.

Inside, sport bucket seats with European-style diamond patterned seat inserts. A silver-masked instrument cluster, radio bezel, door accents and grey metallic shift knob highlight the interior package, which also includes a six-disc in-dash CD player and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

A total of 5,700 Focus Street Editions will be built - about 85 per cent of them available as a sedan and the balance as wagons. Of that number, about 1,000 will be available to Canadian customers. Cost of Street Edition will be $1,395 added to the Focus SE Sport for a total MSRP of $20,230.
