Mercedes-Benz has released preview illustrations of a new 6-seater sedan concept to be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January. The futuristic Vision GST concept car features 22 inch wheels, 'butterfly' doors, three-dimensional instruments, a 360 horsepower 5.5 litre V8 engine, and carbon-fibre reinforced ceramic disc brakes.

Crash test results for three 2002 SUVs were released by the U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety this week. In these 40 mph frontal offset crash tests into a deformable barrier, the 2002 Explorer was rated "good" and a "Best Pick" while the 2002 Jeep Liberty and Isuzu Rodeo were rated "marginal".
