A study released on Wednesday gives high marks to gasoline-derived fuels and fuel cell vehicles as the cleanest and most efficient combination of fuel and propulsion system for the near term. The Chrysler Group is voluntarily recalling 615 Dodge Viper ACR and GT-2 Commemorative Editions equipped with optional equipment 5-point racing seat belt harness. Car4U.com Ltd., Canada's first automotive eDealer, today released the top ten most requested vehicles and manufacturers in February at its online sales site, Cars4U.com. Volkswagen, whose VW Jetta is the most requested vehicle, led all other manufacturers. Honda had two vehicles in the top three - the Civic and Accord, although in terms of manufacturer requests, Honda was fourth, after Volkswagen, Ford and Toyota.

XCELLSIS fuel cell system tested in Japan

XCELLSIS GmbH is the system supplier for the fuel cell-driven NECAR 5 (New Electric Car) from DaimlerChrysler and the Premacy FC-EV (Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle) from Mazda. In early February, the two vehicles obtained a road permit from the Japanese Ministry for Infrastructure and Transport. The fuel used in the system is methanol.

Ford buys rest of Hertz

Ford Motor Company bought the remaining 18.5 percent of shares of the Hertz Corporation that it didn't already own on Friday, making Hertz a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford. Toyota introduced the FCHV-3, its latest fuel cell hybrid vehicle, at the International Symposium on Fuel Cell Vehicles on March 1 and 2nd in Tokyo, Japan. Toyota says that, in terms of cleanliness and efficiency, fuel-cell vehicles that directly employ pure hydrogen will become mainstay in the future. The new FCHV-3 brings that goal one step closer to reality. The FCHV-3 features a hydrogen-absorbing alloy tank as well as a highly efficient 90 kW fuel cell.
