Toyota's 'Scion' youth brand not for Canada

Toronto, Ontario - Toyota Canada officials announced yesterday that U.S. news stories about Toyota's planned 'Scion' youth-oriented marketing project do not apply to Canada.

"When it comes to the sale and distribution of Toyota vehicles, Canada and the United States are two unique and separate countries," said Tony Wearing, Group Vice President of Vehicle Sales and Marketing of TCI. "Scion is an American story about U.S. marketing and product strategies and we have no plans to introduce Scion to Canada," he added.

Toyota Canada is currently in the midst of our own "made in Canada" marketing activity called Access Toyota whose purpose is to improve the purchase and ownership experience of Toyota customers in Canada.
