Mercedes-Benz E-Class and C32 win Canadian AJAC awards

Toronto, Ontario - Mercedes-Benz had two winners in the recent AJAC Canadian Car of the Year contest: the 2003 E-Class and C32 models were chosen by the members of the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) as the best cars in their respective "Luxury" and "Sports coupe or sedan over $35,000" categories.

"We were absolutely ecstatic to receive these awards", said Ernst H. Lieb, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada, "especially when you consider the other fine automobiles the E-Class and C32 were up against, coupled with the tremendous level of professionalism and integrity with which AJAC operates this contest." He added, "While the E-Class offers leading edge technology, stunning styling and industry benchmark qualities, the C32 is, on the other hand, a handcrafted sports car equipped with a muscular supercharged 349hp V6 engine. But, clearly, these awards attest to the fact that both are leaders in their realm."

A recent survey conducted by AJAC ascertained that "once again with certainty, the Canadian Car of the Year Awards have a significant influence on the purchase decision of Canadian car buyers".
