BMW shows xActivity concept and 2004 3 Series Coupe and Convertible
Detroit, Michigan - The xActivity Concept Sports Activity Vehicle made its world debut on Monday. Also making their world debuts were the 2004 3 Series Coupe and Convertible which feature updated styling and technological enhancements, the V12-powered 760Li sedan, Z4 roadster, and the limited production Z8 Alpina Roadster V8.
The most striking element of its styling is the roofline, a so-called "frame-structure convertible". Longitudinal members on both sides run from the A-pillar all the way to the back. This provides an open environment for driver and passengers with no B- or C-pillars.
The xActivity is powered by BMW's widely acclaimed 3.0-liter in-line 6-cylinder engine delivering 225 horsepower. Power is transmitted through a new standard six-speed manual gearbox to generously sized wheels with 245/45 tires at the front, 275/40 tires at the rear on 18-inch wheels.
This Fall, both the 325Ci and 330Ci Coupes and Convertibles will be available with an optional six-speed Sequential Manual Gearbox. The 2004 3 Series Coupe and Convertible begin production in March and will arrive at BMW dealers in April.
