Toyota Canada to re-enter Car of the Year Competition

Toronto - Toyota Canada Inc. confirmed yesterday that it would re-enter the Car of the Year award competition next year. Toyota vehicles have been conspicuously absent from the competition held annually by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada, leading to criticism that the competition, arguably the most objective such event in the world, could not conclusively determine the best car or truck in Canada without testing Toyota vehicles.

Speaking to CanadianDriver.com, F. David Stone, Public Affairs Manager for Toyota Canada Inc. said that in an automotive market as competitive as in Canada, the company needs to take advantage of opportunities to put its vehicles in front of the Canadian public. Therefore, Toyota Canada had decided to once again take part in the Canadian Car of the Year awards competition.

Toyota announced the decision Tuesday to it's Canadian dealers.
