Mazda announces Canadian pricing for 2004 RX-8

Toronto - Yesterday, at the Canadian International Auto Show, Mazda Canada Inc. announced the RX-8 sports car, equipped with either automatic transmission and rated at 210 horsepower or with a six speed manual transmissionand rated at 250 hp, will be priced at $36,795 when it goes on sale in June.

In Canada, the RX-8 will be offered in two, well-equipped trim levels. Standard featues will include cloth seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, front and side air bags and side curtains, air conditioning and fog lights. Fully loaded, the RX-8 adds heated leather seats (electrically adjustable for the driver), automatic dimming rear view mirror, Torsen limted slip differential, dynamic stability control and Xenon headlamps. The GT trim level will be available for $39,595.

On display at the Toronto auto show is Mazda's 'X-men RX-8'. The customized RX-8 will play a lead role in the sequal to the popular X-Men movie, X2.

Other Mazda vehicles on display include the Washu and Secret Hideout concepts.
