Marcus Breitschwerdt appointed President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada

Toronto, Ontario - Mr. Marcus W. Breitschwerdt has taken over the duties of President and Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz Canada. Former President, Ernst H. Lieb, has been appointed President of DaimlerChrysler Australia/Pacific.

Mr. Breitschwerdt was previously employed at DaimlerChrysler AG in Stuttgart, Germany where he held several positions. He joined the Mercedes-Benz Management Associate Program in the Controlling department a decade ago as a market specialist and later took on the responsibility of Assistant to the Senior VP, Corporate Planning. He subsequently headed the environmental strategy department and served as one of three process managers for the DaimlerChrysler merger integration process. His most recent position at DaimlerChrysler included the responsibilities for marketing strategy for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, product management for the A-Class and C-Class, worldwide mid- and long-term sales planning and strategy, and concept development of all future Mercedes-Benz passenger cars.
