Nissan announces pricing for 2004 Maxima

Mississauga, Ontario - Nissan Canada announced pricing for its new Maxima sedan which goes on sale April 1, 2003. The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for the 5-seater Maxima SE is $34,500. The four-seater 3.5 SE, which has a centre console running between the front and rear seats, is priced at $38,700. Both have a standard 6-speed manual transmission.

The top-of-the-line Maxima 3.5SL, with a standard 4-speed automatic transmission, is $39,300.

"The new Maxima is more stylish, refined and evolved than ever." said Ian Forsyth, director of marketing, Nissan Canada Inc. "Maxima's Skyview roof, an industry first for the mid-size sedan segment, is a bold feature and we made it standard, while the optional 3.5 SE 4-seat model adds to the sports sedan heritage of Maxima, providing seating similar to a 2-door sports coupe."

Maxima's VQ 3.5-litre DOHC V6 engine has been refined for 2004 to produce 265 horsepower and 255 lb-ft torque. The VQ engine series has been recognized as one of the "Ten Best Engines" by Ward's Auto World magazine for nine consecutive years.

For the first time, the Maxima will be assembled in the United States, at Nissan's manufacturing facility in Smyrna, Tennessee.
