Canada's most fuel-efficient vehicles named

Each year, Natural Resources Canada presents the EnerGuide Awards to the manufacturers of the most fuel-efficient new vehicles sold in Canada in each of nine classes. The EnerGuide Awards are now in their fifth year, and winners are determined using fuel consumption estimates for vehicles published in the annual Fuel Consumption Guide.

Nissan wins big at Canadian Car of the Year awards

For the first time ever, one car company has won both the Canadian Car of the Year and Canadian Truck of the Year awards. The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) announced today that its members had chosen the Nissan 350Z as the "Canadian Car of the Year", the Nissan Murano as "Canadian Truck of the Year". As well, the Nissan Altima was voted "Best New Design".

Trio of Nissan's make finals for Best New Design competition

Two Nissan models and one Infiniti have made the finals of the Best New Design award sponsored by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada. The 2003 Nissan 350Z sports car, the 2003 Nissan Murano 'crossover' sport utility vehicle and the 2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Sedan were finalists from a starting field of over 50 vehicles. Automotive design competition receives record number of entries

The second annual World Automotive Design Competition hosted by the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto reports a record number of entries this year. Sixty-eight entries, comprised of 90 students, from twelve internationally recognized design schools have entered this year's Canadian automotive design challenge. The countries represented are China, India, Japan, Korea, England, Italy, France, Sweden, the USA and Canada.

Winners of kid's car-design contest to be displayed at Toronto auto show

DaimlerChrysler's "Start Your Engine! Design That Cool Car" contest, which closed on December 31st, 2002, is now in the judging stage, and the results of the contest will be showcased at the Toronto International Auto Show in February 2003. Prizes for the contest include three $2,000 BMO Intuition RESPs, three Fujifilm FinePix 2650 digital cameras and six one-year subscriptions for AOL Canada Internet service along with a "designer" gift basket from Grand & Toy.
