The BMW 750i/Li replaces the former BMW 745i/Li. The new 4.8 litre V8 with variable 'Valvetronic' valve drive develops 360 horsepower at 6300 rpm and and offers peak torque of 360 lb-ft at 3400 rpm. Fuel consumption remains almost unchanged.

In the BMW 760Li, the 12-cylinder power unit remains unchanged, with engine output, as before, 438 hp at 6000 rpm and torque of 444 lb-ft at 3950 rpm.

The chassis and suspension of the BMW 7 Series has now been updated and enhanced. Apart from a wider track by 14 millimetres and enhanced axle kinematics, BMW is introducing a wider range of choices. Customers will be able to choose from one standard suspension set-up and two suspension packages with different qualities and features.

The optional Adaptive Ride package on the 750i/Li (standard on the 760Li) now combines Dynamic Drive with BMW's EDC continuously adjustable damper control system, and self-levelling suspension

The optional Sport Package on the 750i/Li combines the sport set-up of the suspension with Dynamic Drive for a sporting driving experience dedicated to the genuine enthusiast.
