Mazda5 owners to receive recall notices

Markham, Ontario - Mazda reports that 2006 Mazda5 vehicles may have an exhaust problem that could cause a vehicle fire. Three instances have been reported in the U.S., although there have been no reports of any incidents in Canada.

The company has issued a voluntary recall of all 2006 Mazda5 vehicles, until the cause can be determined and a fix is installed. Affected owners will be provided with a rental vehicle at no cost. Mazda Canada reports that letters have been sent to owners, who should receive them today or Monday.
