ZAP introduces three-wheel electric city car

ZAP Xebra Santa Rosa, California – ZAP, a California company whose name means Zero Air Pollution, has introduced an electric three-wheeled city car, the Xebra, and has entered into a manufacturing contract with a Chinese automaker to produce the vehicle. The company is currently taking advance orders on the car, which will sell for US$8,995 when it becomes available in December.

The Xebra, which was shown at the San Francisco Auto Show, seats four and has a range of up to 665 km with a top speed of 65 km/h. It uses a DC motor powered by a lead-acid battery pack. The company also makes electric versions of the Smart, and a two-seater car called the LUV.
