Canadian car and truck sales drop five per cent in April
Richmond Hill, Ontario - Light vehicle sales dropped a total of five per cent in April, with passenger cars down 5.6 per cent and light trucks down 4.1 per cent from April, 2005, according to figures released by industry analyst Dennis DesRosiers.
Notable losers were General Motors (-18.8%), Mazda (-19.8%), Nissan (-19%), Acura (-30.6%), Infiniti (-18.0%), and Volvo (-15.6%).
Notable winners were DaimlerChrysler (+5.6%), Ford (+3.7%), Suzuki (+29.3%), Saab (+19.3%), Mercedes-Benz (+16.6%), BMW (+13.8%), Toyota (+13.6%), Smart (+11.0%), and Lexus (+10.2%).
