New mobile phone service helps drivers avoid speeding tickets

Montreal, Quebec - Montreal-based J R Wireless Inc. has announced a new mobile telephone service that sends text messages to warn drivers of speed trap alerts in Ontario and Quebec. The company says that anyone with a mobile phone can take advantage of the service, with no software or application required.

Similar services have been available in several European countries for more than five years; J R Wireless has partnered with a European technology provider to deliver the service, which launches on June 7, 2006. There is no membership fee; subscribers pay a per-received text message fee, and can sign on or off at any time. For more information, visit www.speed-trap-alerts.com.
