Markham, Ontario - The all-new Mazda CX-7 has received the highest five-star rating for both frontal and side-impact crash tests conducted by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

For the frontal test, the CX-7 was crashed into a fixed barrier at 56 km/hr (35 mph); the five-star rating indicates a 10 per cent or less chance of serious injury to a belted occupant in the front seat. The side test represents an intersection-type collision with a 1367 kg (3105 lb) barrier moving at 62 km/h (38.5 mph); the rating indicates a 5 per cent or less chance of serious injury. Crash test ratings can be found at www.safercar.gov.
