Canadian sales up 0.6 per cent in July, analyst reports

Richmond Hill, Ontario - New-vehicle sales rose by 0.6 per cent in July over the same period in 2006, reports industry analyst Dennis DesRosiers. A rise of 1.5 per cent in passenger car sales was offset by a 0.6 per cent drop in light trucks. Overall, GM, Ford and DaimlerChrysler sales dropped by 2.6 per cent, while sales of imported nameplates rose by 4.0 per cent.
