Windsor, Ontario - Dodge has announced it will reveal the all-new Journey at the 2007 International Motor Show in Frankfurt. The company says the new crossover combines the practicality of a minivan, the capability of an SUV and the overall efficiency of a passenger car. The 2009 Journey will go on sale in Canada and the U.S. in the first quarter of 2008, and in global markets outside North America in both left- and right-hand drive, starting in mid-2008.

The Journey features standard five-passenger seating, or available "5+2" seating for additional passengers. Safety features include standard side and curtain airbags, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, electronic stability program and electronic roll mitigation, available backup camera, and in the U.S. and Canada, available all-wheel drive.

The Dodge Journey is built on the company's D-segment platform, also used on the Dodge Avenger, but its wheelbase is 124 mm longer to accommodate the extra seating and additional cargo space. It will be available in North America with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder World Engine, flexible-fuel 2.7-litre V6 engine, or 3.5-litre V6 with six-speed automatic transmission; a 2.0-litre diesel will be sold in other markets.

A new, available Flip 'N Stow storage system includes a front passenger seat cushion that flips forward to reveal a bin, large enough to store a purse, umbrella, planner or headphones with the seat down, while the rear doors open 90 degrees for easy entry to the second- and third-row seats; available child booster seats are integrated into the second row.
