BMW X6 to debut in Canada in 2008
Whitby, Ontario - BMW Group Canada has announced that the all-new X6 will debut in Canada in 2008. The company calls it the world's first Sports Activity Coupe and says that xDrive, its intelligent all-wheel drive system, will become a core element in the names of all upcoming all-wheel drive BMW models.
The X6 will be available as the xDrive50i with twin-turbo V8 engine, and as the xDrive35i with twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine. The new V8, making its world debut in the X6, displaces 4.4 litres and produces 400 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque.
The X6 features a striking front end with large intakes, low greenhouse, classic coupe proportions and sweeping roofline flow to the rear end. Other features include bi-Xenon headlamps, fog lights, two-stage brake lights, run-flat tires, active steering, head-up display, four-zone automatic climate control, ventilated seats, rear-view camera, and navigation system.
