Safety warning issued for Combi Infant Carrier

Ottawa, Ontario - Transport Canada is advising the public of a safety issue with respect to certain models of the Combi Infant Carrier, which could separate from its base in a moderate to severe collision. The notice affects 536 units.

The models affected were manufactured between August 5, 2006 and October 27, 2007 and are:

Centre DX: 781395/981395, 789462/998047
Centre ST: 784850/991465, 784850S/991465
Cosmo ST Travel System: 714650/991465

Any moderate to severe collision could exert enough force on the latching system to cause the infant carrier to separate from its base. It is therefore imperative that the carrier be securely fastened without its base with the vehicle's seatbelt, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, until a repair kit is received.

Consumers who completed and returned their registration cards or registered online will receive a repair kit free of charge. Those who did not should contact ISIS Inc., the Combi system's importer, at 1-800-667-4111. Consumers should not return the unit to a retailer.

Further information on the affected Combi systems can be found on Transport Canada's Web site.
