Oldsmobile

Oldsmobile Aurora, 1995-2003
The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines an aurora as a "luminous phenomenon that consists of light appearing in the upper atmosphere." General Motors' Oldsmobile division chose to define it in their own way in 1995 with an all-new flagship model slotting in above the 98 Regency Elite and bringing V8 power back to the Olds line-up for the first time since the full-size Custom Cruiser station wagon of 1990.

Oldsmobile Alero, 1999-2004
Picture this: it's the mid-1990s and the folks at General Motors' now defunct Oldsmobile division are brainstorming, working on what sort of car they should build to replace the company's current mid-size sedan, the (under) Achieva.

Oldsmobile Intrigue, 1998-2002
When General Motors announced a few years ago that it planned to shut down its Oldsmobile division, the decision raised a lot of difficult questions among car enthusiasts. You were (and still are) probably more likely to discover who built the pyramids, or why the chicken crossed the road, than you are to find a logical answer as to why GM decided to axe its most interesting and oldest division.

Oldsmobile Silhouette, 1997-2003
2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette. Click image to enlarge By Jeremy Cato The Oldsmobile Silhouette is one of three General Motors minivans all built on identical mechanical components. The others? The Chevrolet Venture and the Pontiac Trans Sport. Of the three, the Silhouette was the last to arrive in the Canada, about a year after the Chevrolet Venture and [...]

Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, 1988-1997
Oldsmobile may be a dead division within the General Motors Corporation family now, but back in the 1970s and '80s Olds enjoyed explosive growth while other GM divisions withered under the onslaught of Japanese imports.

Oldsmobile Alero, 1999-2001
1999 Oldsmobile Alero Coupe. Click image to enlarge By Jeremy Cato When it arrived in the fall of 1998, the 1999 Oldsmobile Alero was clearly the best affordable car from General Motors Corporation in a generation. The Alero, which replaced the underachieving Achieva in the Olds lineup, has since launch day come in both coupe [...]

2001 Oldsmobile Aurora
Completely redesigned for the 2001 model year, the Oldsmobile Aurora is shorter in overall length but roomier inside. It now offers a standard 3.5 litre V6 engine as well as an optional 4.0 litre V8 engine. New for 2001 are side airbags and an automatic anti-skid system. Aurora V6 models start at $39,035 [...]

Oldsmobile Achieva, 1992-1997
Achieva joined the Oldsmobile product line as a replacement for the Calais for the 1992 model year. Sharing both a common platform and mechanical components with fellow GM vehicles, the Pontiac Grand Am and Buick Skylark, Achieva is the one with clean simple styling lines and a smart 'business suit'-like appeal.

1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue 3.5
Introduced last year, the 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue is offered with a new 3.5 liter overhead cam V6 engine with more horsepower and improved efficiency. Intrigues come with standard air conditioning, 4-speed automatic transmission, four wheel disc brakes, and a roomy 5 passenger interior. New engine adds more zip When the Oldsmobile Intrigue was introduced in 1998, [...]
