For 2006, the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti continues changed. It’s named for famed 1950s and 1960s Ferrari stylist and coachbuilder Sergio Scaglietti, but this model was designed by Pininfarina.

The 612 Scaglietti is the first 12-cylinder Ferrari with an all-aluminum space frame chassis and body; although it’s a front-engine car, its 46/54 weight distribution means it handles like the company’s mid-engine offerings.

Handcrafted leather seats and interior are brightened with pressed or solid aluminum trim. Features include a dual-zone climate control system, 612-exclusive Bose CD player with six-channel digital unit, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and antitheft alarm. A six-speed manual transmission can be optioned to an F1A (for Automatic) gearbox.

The huge 612 Scaglietti drives like a much smaller and lighter car, on its way to a top speed of over 315 km/h. Zero to 100 km/h takes 4.3 seconds. Adaptive dampers can be tuned to Sport mode for tackling any hairpin turns, while 13.6-inch front and 13.0-inch rear brakes handle the rapid deceleration. Since it’s a 2+2, you can technically take your friends along for the ride; but it’s cramped back there, they’ll be uncomfortable, and who really wants to share an experience like this?
