Built on a stretched version of the Santa Fe platform, the Veracruz uses a 3.8-litre V6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode. All models feature on-demand all-wheel drive and come with standard electronic stability control, traction control, and anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution.

Features on the GLS include 18-inch alloy wheels, side and curtain airbags, CD/MP3 stereo with six speakers and wheel-mounted controls, automatic headlamps, conversation mirror, cooled centre console armrest storage, cruise control, auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass, fog lamps, eight-way power driver’s seat, 60/40 split folding second-row seat, 50/50 split-row folding third-row seat, windshield wiper de-icer, heated leather seats, leather-wrapped wheel, dual-zone climate control, heated mirrors, power sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, rear parking assist, intermittent rear wiper, rear spoiler, keyless entry with alarm, roof rack and trip computer.

The Limited adds six-CD/MP3 stereo with ten speakers and maximum output external amplifier, 110-volt inverter, rear seat entertainment system with eight-inch LCD screen, rear console video jack, chrome exterior door handles, illuminated door scuff plates, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, power front passenger seat, garage door opener, premium leather seats with memory, proximity key, power-adjustable pedals, power liftgate, self-levelling suspension and power tilt and telescopic wheel.
