For 2008, the Acura TL remains unchanged, save for new interior and exterior colours.

The TL is available as the TL, with an optional TL Navi package, and as the performance-oriented Type-S. The TL uses a 3.2-litre V6 engine that produces 258 horsepower and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode. The Type-S uses a 3.5-litre V6, making 286 horsepower, and comes with a close-coupled six-speed manual transmission that can be optioned to a five-speed automatic with wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

Features on the TL include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, Xenon headlamps, tire pressure monitoring system, heated leather seats with eight-way driver and four-way passenger power adjustment and driver's side memory, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, Bluetooth hands-free communication system, leather-wrapped steering wheel, six-CD/cassette stereo, cruise control, heated mirrors with reverse tilt-down, garage door opener, power sunroof, keyless entry, speed-sensitive variable intermittent wipers, and fog lamps.

The Navi package adds bilingual voice-activated navigation system with rear-view camera.

The Type-S builds on the Navi package and adds larger front and rear stabilizer bars, Brembo brake calipers, active noise cancellation and rear spoiler.

The TL strikes a fine balance between sport sedan and luxury machine, offering potent engine choices and excellent steering response. The Type-S increases the driving pleasure with its six-speed manual and sportier suspension, but both are good choices for enthusiasts who still want creature comforts.
