2011 Suzuki Kizashi
An all-new midsize sedan from Suzuki, the Kizashi is smaller than its competitors but offers terrific handling and stability and standard all-wheel drive, reports Senior Editor, Paul Williams. It will go on sale in Canada in March or April of 2010.

2009 Suzuki SX4 JX AWD hatchback
The affordable Suzuki SX4 hatchback is available with a unique all-wheel drive system that provides excellent poor weather roadholding, reports Editor-in-chief, Greg Wilson, “but electronic stability control is offered only on the top trim level,” he notes.

Chevrolet Aveo, Pontiac Wave, Suzuki Swift+, 2004-2008
These Korean-built subcompact cars aren’t recommended by Consumer Reports which gives them a worse-then-average used vehicle rating, reports Contributing Editor Chris Chase. “Settling for questionable reliability shouldn’t be an option, even for a buyer on a budget,” he says.

2009 Suzuki Grand Vitara four-cylinder
“Suzuki continues to fall under the label 'Smart Cookie', with its uncanny ability to include the most sensible option packages, at pricing worthy of head scratch,” says contributor Michael Clark. “There’s an awful lot here for the bread.”

2009 Suzuki SX-4 Sedan Sport
Small but tall, the roomy SX-4 sedan returns for 2009 with new split folding rear seatbacks and a useful keyless start system. But its fuel economy remains near the bottom of its class and stability control is still not offered.

2009 Suzuki Grand Vitara JLX-L
Now available with a new four-cylinder engine as well as a V6 engine, the 2009 Suzuki Grand Vitara four-cylinder model offers better fuel economy than the V6, but isn't as economical as its four-cylinder competitors, reports Contributing Editor, Chris Chase.

2009 Suzuki Grand Vitara
The Suzuki Grand Vitara is the compact SUV you'll probably overlook and shouldn't, says Assistant Editor Jil McIntosh; the 2009 version offers a new four-cylinder engine, quieter cabin and surprisingly capable off-road ability.
