Toronto, Ontario – Toyota Canada has announced the introduction of the 2009 Toyota Tacoma, with a new four-cylinder 4×4 Access Cab model and a starting price of $20,215, an MSRP that is $250 lower than last year’s comparable Tacoma.

“For the 2009 model year, we offer new added value to eight different Tacoma models featuring a range of cab sizes and powertrains to ensure there’s a Toyota for everyone who values the convenience and usefulness of a compact pickup truck,” said Tony Wearing, Managing Director of Toyota Canada. “Moreover, we offer Tacoma buyers additional standard equipment, including additional airbags, active headrests, vehicle control systems, LED taillamps, and amenities such as an upgraded audio system.”

For 2009, the Tacoma is available in eight models: 4×2 Access Cab with five-speed manual or four-speed automatic; the all-new 4×4 Access Cab with five-speed manual, a new model for 2009; the 4×4 V6 Access Cab with six-speed manual or five-speed automatic; 4×4 V6 Double Cab with six-speed manual or five-speed automatic; and the sport-tuned X-Runner 4×2 V6 with six-speed manual. Prices range from $20,215 to $30,700.
