Richmond, Indiana - The Ford Motor Company and the Model T Club of America are currently presenting the T Party, an international gathering of antique auto enthusiasts to mark the 100th anniversary of the Model T Ford, at the Wayne County Fairgrounds in Richmond, Indiana. The first Model T was offered for sale on October 1, 1908 and went on to sell more than 15 million units.
Some 1,000 vehicles from 47 states and nine countries are on hand for the event, which runs from June 21 to 26.
“This is the largest gathering of Ts since they left the factory,” said Jay Klehfoth, CEO of the Model T Club of America. “This is the car that changed the world. It was cheaper than a horse, and prior to the Model T, 94 per cent of people never went 20 miles from their homes.”
The event also includes a number of museum vehicles from The Henry Ford, including Ford’s 999 racer and the 15-millionth model built. The Model T was produced from 1908 to 1927 and was replaced with Ford’s Model A. For more information, visit The T Party.
