Calgary’s Rides ‘n’ Rods event happens this Sunday

Calgary, Alberta - Calgary’s largest motor event, Rides ‘n’ Rods ‘08, will take place this Sunday July 27 from 11 am to 3 pm.  It is free to spectators and $10 for vehicle exhibitors. The main entrance is at 40 Ave and Edmonton Trail NE.

The motor event mixes in cars, trucks, and motorcycles along with fun events for adults and kids over an eight-block area.  Five blocks will be closed off as a pedestrian mall where show vehicles will be parked for display. All proceeds go to support the Calgary HandiBus Association.

Bands will play rock, blues and country music in three different locations:  on Stage in front of Springer Plaza ( Edmonton Tr and 41 Ave) will be Joe Mason and his six-piece, one-man band. Joe is a local legend who plays country music. Playing on the ATCO Stage in front of Smith McLeay Coatings at 422 40 Avenue NE will be three bands, part of The Music Group Promotions, “Electric Energy Series”:  Inforlife, Throttlecaster, and Magnus Rising.
