Daimler signs agreement with Iraq
Stuttgart, Germany - Daimler AG has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Republic of Iraq on future cooperation. The memorandum was signed in the presence of Michael Glos, German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs.

Daimler has emphasized its willingness to support Iraq’s economic revival through various measures, including the provision of transport capacity, particularly trucks and buses, and the required technical expertise. The two sides will jointly appoint a group of experts to identify the market requirements, as well as the financial, legal and organizational possibilities.

In February 2008, Daimler began operation of a training centre in Iraq; within the context of its intended activities in the country, it plans to provide local employees with training so they can gain the required qualifications.
