Nissan delivers first Canadian GT-R

Mississauga, Ontario - Nissan Canada Inc. has handed over the keys to the first 2009 GT-R delivered in Canada, to a customer in Oakville, Ontario. The new 480-horsepower model officially went on sale yesterday at a select number of GT-R Certified Nissan dealers across the country.

The first customer was Stanislaus Gonsalves of Oakville, who ordered the vehicle in July 2007. The “Black Obsidian” GT-R was presented at a special ceremony attended by the dealer principals of Alta Nissan and by Jeff Parent, vice-president of sales and marketing for Nissan Canada. Gonsalves has been a customer of Alta Nissan since 1996 and has owned numerous Nissan vehicles.

“I’m an automotive aficionado and the GT-R truly pushes the boundaries of performance and craftsmanship,” Gonsalves said. “I am so excited to finally get the keys and eager to get behind the wheel to experience firsthand what this car can do.”

Approximately 150 GT-R vehicles are coming to the Canadian market, at a base price of $81,900, and all are spoken for. Deliveries will continue throughout the coming months.
