Subaru announces 2009 Impreza WRX265

Mississauga, Ontario - Subaru Canada has announced changes to its 2009 Impreza 2.5i and WRX models. The WRX models now include an entry-level WRX and new high-performance WRX265, with a more powerful turbo engine and features designed to enhance the performance driving experience. Both are available in sedan or hatchback configuration.

The new WRX265 features a turbocharged and intercooled engine that produces 265 horsepower and 244 lb-ft of torque, with performance-tuned suspension, 17-inch summer tires, premium audio system and gun metal aluminum-alloy sport pedals. “The Impreza WRX continues to be a popular choice for affordable performance,” said Katsuhiro Yokoyama, president and CEO of Subaru Canada. “Now, buyers have even more choice, with two models allowing them to set their own priorities when shopping for an outstanding combination of power, versatility and safety.”

The new 2009 2.5i follows the design of the previous year, adding new equipment for safety, comfort and performance, including vehicle dynamics control, traction control, brake assist, rear solid disc brakes, audio input jack, fuel consumption display and, on vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, a hill hold system.

The 2009 Impreza line-up goes on sale in September.
