Canadian Truck King Challenge:
The tests

Each truck was judged on the following scale:

  • 20-km unburdened test (40 points, 20 for Work Trucks)
  • 15-km burdened test (60 points)
  • Off-road capability test (20 points) (Note: only 4x4 trucks were taken off-road, and one-ton trucks completed only half the course)
  • Static utility test (40 points, 50 for Work Trucks) (Note: the Canadian Driver team did not do this test)
  • Emotional appeal (10 points)
  • Safety and innovation (20 points)
  • Market service (20 points)
  • Price compensation (15 points, 25 for Work Trucks) (Factored by Truck King staff)
  • Fuel compensation (10 points) (Factored by Truck King staff)
  • Acceleration and braking tests (Factored by Truck King staff)
