The basic midsize truck. It's not the most muscular of vehicles, but is plenty sufficient for the tradesperson carrying small tools and materials to and from the jobsite. Rubber mats throughout will be appreciated, as will the composite lined box that resists dents and chips. A nicely appointed cabin with controls that are intelligently organized, good build quality, comfortable seats, and a quiet ride with good fuel economy characterize the four-cylinder Tacoma. As one of only two rear-wheel drive vehicles in the Truck King Challenge, it almost made it through the off-road course, finally getting snagged on a tree stump half way up the off-road hill. If the driver had managed to avoid the stump, the Tacoma likely would have equalled its four-wheel drive competition.
